A life shaped by
Appalachia
Brad Lane is a storyteller, adventurer, and passionate academic whose roots run deep in the Appalachian heartland of West Virginia. Growing up among the rolling hills and rugged trails, his childhood was filled with endless adventures and quiet moments lost in the wonder of nature. This early connection to the mountains sparked a lifelong love for the region's serene landscapes and rugged beauty, as well as a quiet appreciation for the deeper meaning and order often found in the natural world.
In addition to his deep appreciation for nature, Brad loves to learn and apply himself to the discipline of study. He earned bachelor's degrees in psychology, sociology, and biology. His intellectual restlessness led him to pursue master's degrees in both business and education. Brad earned a doctorate in optometry, reflecting his dedication to science and a deep commitment to caring for people and serving his community with integrity and compassion.
Today, despite the busyness of modern life and running his optometry practice, Brad draws his inspiration from the timeless tranquility of the mountains. Guided by a strong sense of purpose and enduring values, his profound connection to the Appalachian region—its history, culture, and mythology—fuels his storytelling and serves as a reminder of the enduring power of nature, knowledge, and faith.
